How can this not make you smile?

Care package arrived at the hospital today for me… Put a huge smile on my face. It was exactly what I needed on a day when I needed a lift. Thank you so much Sherry, Cheryl, Nicky & Craig!  Here’s just a sampling of my new meditation book…

I was playing with my new EMS toy…put it on the BUTTOCKS setting.  šŸ™„



Physiotherapist Jen introduced kinesiology tape into the treatment plan today. KT tape as it’s called, lifts the skin, decompresses the layers of fascia, allowing for greater movement of lymphatic fluid.  It’s improves bloodflow and helps to support muscles by helping the muscles to not overextend or over contract.

    It is amazing the technology they can use for your recovery. That coupled with the support and wishes from all your friends, the amazing support from your family, your positive attitude, and the super love and support from Jillian will speed you back to a full recovery.

Starting the blog! Ive often thought about starting a blog ......but what should I write about?   If you’re reading this, you know that last Thursday I suffered a stroke....things were going to be different for a while. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming.  People have been sending us messages and emails expressing their concern and support during this difficult time.   We are trying our best to keep everyone updated on my progress...and that’s when it dawned on us ....Blog about my recovery!  Seems like the easiest way to keep those that are interested, updated on my recovery. It will also be good for me to see my progress and how far I’ve come.  It will also give me something to do when I’m not busy rehabbing. So… Follow along if you’re interested. ♥️ Home with the family ♥️

 Saturday August 22nd I waited a long time for this moment.   A moment I’ll never forget.  We all cried, we all hugged, we all needed it.  Released back into the wild at 3:30 on Thursday afternoon... Jillian was there to take me home.  From the moment I went into the hospital until the moment I left, she was always there when I needed her.  I had the best welcoming committee there to greet me.  The kids made the most amazing signs and cards…  Aqua therapy has been fantastic! It has definitely been an adjustment coming home. More so than I thought it would be. The frustration of having to ask for help with everything. I mean everything.  Definitely need to take time to rest. Gone from puttering around my hospital room, to having to navigate the house and yard. Friday: A couple of errands that HAD to get done on my first full day at home… Went to the DMV with dad šŸ˜’šŸ™„ and LensCrafters to get some new reading glasses šŸ¤“. Not sexy but like I said...

Room with a View

Wednesday July 29th Today was a great day, in a lot of ways!!!! Physio was busy, with lots of walking, and staircase work!!  The entire Physio team was thoroughly impressed as I paraded around the gym, lap after lap, like a proud peacock.  Time for some video work tomorrow so I can show my walking progress. In OT, had an assessment on left-sided mobility and functionality… They said I was progressing “spectacularly“. So that’s a good thing. All the while, The nurses were busy moving me into a new room…A room with a view!  Technically I had A view before, but it wasn’t very good.  It was into a courtyard and there was never anyone in it. Now I look due East… I can see the lake, the CNTower, and spectacular skies ALL DAY LONG! Jillian came up for a dinner date outside....
